On this page: • • Word 2010 or 2007 To insert a file from another application into a document: • Open the Word document into which you want to insert the file. • Place the cursor where you want to add the file. • Locate the file you want to insert by searching for it in My Computer. • Click and hold the mouse button down, drag the file to the location in the Word document where you want to insert it, and then release the mouse button. Note: This may place an icon to the file in the Word document; double-click the icon to open the file. Earlier versions of Word To insert a file from another application into a document: • Open the Word document into which you want to insert the file.
• Place the cursor where you want to add the file. • From the Insert menu, select File. The Insert File window will open. • Locate the file you want to insert. Note: You will probably need to change the 'Files of type:' field to All files. • Click your file once to highlight it, and then click OK or Insert.
